Work Style:
My Role as Legal Nurse: I see my role as a bridge into the healthcare world. I am comfortable with Plaintiff or Defense issues. It is more important for me to make sure whatever side it is has the correct and relevant medical information to then decide if it is pertinent to litigation or case decision.
Collaborative: It is important to me when working with clients to have a clear picture about specific things they are looking for or questions they have about the case. It helps me to be clear on the questions in the case and keeps the communication open between us. I network with Legal Nurses nationwide. That allows me to widen my source of resources and experts. In the end, the work product is part of your case, so it is important that we communicate easily.
Broad: I tend to look at things from 20 different angles. I can ask a lot of questions about a case. I will provide extra 'Alerts' or 'Considerations' and pertinent interrogatories. I look for the best in evidence-based research sources and will research many different resources. I also look at sources that the public looks at as it give a good look into how they develop their medical and health ideas.
Creative: One of my strengths is to be able to take complicated medical diagnoses or issues and explain the in simple, creative and descriptive ways that patients and clients find easy to understand. I have a good eye for creativity and detail.
